Bianca Andreescu v Sofia Kenin Head to Head
Andreescu leads 2-1 on head to head on the WTA level and had also won one ITF match. The last time they faced off, however, was in 2019.

Andreescu Sends Sakkari Packing
In a second round match that had its ebbs and flows and lasted more than three hours, Andreescu held her nerve and came through against Maria Sakkari.
Down a set after having lost her serve twice, Andreescu found her rhythm in the second when she broke Sakkari in the fourth game. A longish seventh game tested the Canadian’s resolve but she held on and levelled the match in the ninth game.
The decider saw neither player get too comfortable with their serving. They shared two breaks in the first two games before Andreescu got the better of Sakkari’s serve in the third and fifth game.
And then she lost her own serve in the sixth.
Another longish game on Andreescu’s serve followed after this and Andreescu then struggled to serve for the match as well, missing out on two match-points and needing to save a break-point.
In the end, however, she won 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to seal her third round berth, having earlier defeated Emma Raducanu in her opener.

Easy Second Round Win for Kenin
For the second match in a row, Kenin did not face any issues in overcoming her opponent and making it to the next stage.
The former Australian Open winner registered a 6-3, 6-4 win over Anhelina Kalinina to make it to the third round, winning back to back matches for only the second time this season.
Following on from her second round defeat at the hands of Elena Rybakina in Indian Wells, Kenin has been a touch luckier with the draw this time around. She started out by easing past Storm Hunter before overcoming Kalinina 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 29 minutes.
Kenin did drop her serve twice in the match but at no point in the match did she fall behind her opponent. In the end, the Hobart International semifinalist from earlier this season, repeated what she had done to Kalinina in that very tournament – win the match and progress to the next round.

Andreescu is 1/2 favourite to win this and that’s par for the course given she has shown a great propensity to show her old sparkle after returning from her fitness issues than Kenin. We still expect Kenin to put up a fight.
