Dana White Snubs Charles Oliveira in Unseen Footage (VIDEO)

Must read

UFC President Dana White has been seen scalding the former UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in behind-the-scenes footage.

This footage comes from the newly released Fight Inc. series called ‘Inside the UFC’. The series documents the side of the premier MMA organisation that is a mystery to the public.

In the latest episode, we saw the moment UFC President Dana White and UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby found out that Charles Oliveira was injured ahead of UFC 294. Former Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira was set to rematch Islam Makhachev in October with the hopes of reclaiming his belt.

Unfortunately, less than two weeks before the fight Oliveira sustained a nasty cut above his eyebrow in training. A cut so deep that forced him to withdraw from the card.

Since then Oliveira has fought against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300. A fight in which the former lost by decision.

It is safe to say from the clip that the two UFC bosses Shelby and White were displeased with the announcement.

Sean Shelby mentioned the massive figure of 2,000,000 dollars that Oliveira would miss out on due to the injury. Whilst Dana White appeared less bothered by the money and more enraged by Oliveira’s choice to spar without headgear.

A day before his flight to Abu Dhabi Oliveira released the footage of a deep cut on his forehead that rendered him unfit to fight. The moment Dana White found out he was equally frustrated by the lack of communication from the fighter:

“How about this – how about if they [Charles Oliveira’s team] call us and let us f*cking fix it and tell them what to do. Yeah, that’s f*cking – that is a nasty (cut) – what were they doing? Wrestling?”

He did not stop there visibly infuriated by the news the boss continued to lash out at the former champ.

“Sparring with no headgear, the week before he (Charles Oliveira) leaves for the fight [with Islam Makhachev] – no, the day, he’s supposed to leave [for Abu Dhabi] today. The night before. He’s going [training] the night before, sparring with no f*cking headgear. That cost them big money.”

The series ‘Inside the UFC’ provides invaluable insight into never-before-seen moments at the company. Yet another fascinating up-close look at the goings on that don’t always come to light through the media.
