The Saints would have to turn back to Jameis Winston at quarterback if Carr ends up out, and they’d likely be slight underdogs as a result since Winston profiles as a downgrade due to being turnover prone.
Carr hasn’t played at a high enough level to where the betting line would shift by more than three points once his Week 12 status is announced, but it will likely determine who ends up favored in this important divisional battle that could swing the NFC South.
While there’s still a chance Carr will play, the same can’t be said for Saints veterans Michael Thomas and Marshon Lattimore, as the former Pro Bowl wide receiver and cornerback are expected to miss multiple weeks even though they haven’t been placed on IR.
