Hundreds of illegal vapes seized in latest crackdown

In the latest crackdown, a bag of illegal e-cigarettes was taken off pupils at a school in the Breckland area.

One shop in Attleborough had several hundred vapes seized from it when police and Trading Standards raided the site last Thursday.

A spokesman for Breckland Police said: “We are often asked what we are doing about the sale of illegal vapes and those shops that sell them to children.

“If you have concerns about illegal vapes you can report them directly to Trading Standards.”

It comes as Trading Standards officers at Norfolk County Council pledged to crack down on vapes after being alarmed at how many were being sold to under-18s.

It said the use of the items in Norfolk has “exploded” in the last year and that “organised criminal gangs” are supplying the trade through certain shops.
