The airport won the award at the Travel Bulletin Star Awards based on the votes of travel industry professionals.
The award was given for the ‘exceptional support’ the airport provides to travel agents and its initiatives to boost awareness and drive sales for its airline partners.
Richard Knight, chief operating officer at Newcastle Airport, said: “We are incredibly proud to be named ‘Star UK Airport’ at the Travel Bulletin Star Awards for the third consecutive year.
“This award not only recognises the hard work and dedication of everyone at the airport, but also reflects the strong, trusted relationships we have built with travel agents and the wider travel industry.
“These partnerships play an important role in helping us deliver vital connectivity for the North East region.”
The award comes after the airport was recognised as the ‘best in the world’ at the Routes World Conference in Bahrain earlier this month.
It is the first UK Airport to make that achievement.
The airport retained its title as the global ‘Best Airport’ in the 0-5 million passengers category for the second consecutive year at the same ceremony.
At the 2024 Travel Industry Award in September, the airport was also named UK and Ireland Airport of the Year.
Laura Hartshorne, aviation sales manager at Newcastle Airport, said: “We work hard to support our travel partners so it’s rewarding to see our efforts have been recognised with this award.
“We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and we look forward to continuing to work together and build on this success in the future.”
The airport was declared the winner after being shortlisted alongside London Gatwick, London City, London Stansted, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, and Manchester airports.
