Qinwen Zheng v Anastasia Potapova Head to Head
Zheng leads 2-0, last beating Potapova in the Adelaide International qualifiers 6-7(3), 7-5, 7-6(4).

Qinwen Zheng, seeded 23rd in Miami, just beat the 12th seed Liudmila Samsonova 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-3 in a little over three hours. As usual, the young Chinese boasted a superb service game, winning 77% of the points behind the first serve.
In the preceding match, Zheng had dismissed Irina-Camelia Begu 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Qinwen is now 11-5 this season – a feat which includes her semifinal stint in Abu Dhabi and numerous early-round appearances. She is also the World No. 23 – a career-best ranking for her which is only set to improve.
The 20-year-young has proven herself to be a remarkable adversary, winning 101 matches in the last three seasons while losing only 35.

Potapova Upsets Gauff
In line with what has been a pretty impressive season for the 21-year-young Anastasia Potapova, she defeated Cori Gauff in the third round 6-7(8), 7-5, 6-2 in two and a half hours.
That was her first top-10 win of the season, with which, she has improved her record to 14-7. Her best result was the Linz Open, where she won her second career title. Apart from this, Anastasia also reached the mid-rounds in Austin, Lyon, and Indian Wells.
These results have also landed the Russian in the 26th spot in the rankings – a career-high for her. But compared to Zheng, Potapova hasn’t been as consistent. Some may also say that her service game is not that strong either – something that may prove to be problematic against her upcoming opponent.

This match can quite likely go either way. Zheng may be fielding some impressive skills, but she is still prone to errors. Potapova has shown grit this season and should be optimistic about her prospects here. All in all, we are looking at an entertaining affair.
