How to watch Atalanta v Bayer Leverkusen in Europa League final on TNT Sports and discovery+ in UK, live stream and TV – Eurosport

Must read

The UEFA Europa League final is here – featuring two sides who have had exceptional seasons domestically, as Atalanta take on Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin on Wednesday May 22, at 20:00 UK time.

Bayer Leverkusen go into the match as favourites, having swept all before them in an extraordinary campaign which has seen them go 50 matches unbeaten, claiming the Bundesliga title in the process.

Xabi Alonso’s side are therefore on for a treble and not only that a historic unbeaten treble, as they will also take on Kaiserslautern in the German Cup final three days after their trip to the Republic of Ireland.

Leverkusen overcame Roma 4-2 on aggregate to reach the decider, having also knocked out West Ham United and Qarabag in the knockout stages. They are looking to win the trophy for a second time, having lifted the then-named UEFA Cup in 1988.

Atalanta are going for a first major European trophy and are on course to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, regardless of how they get on in the final – with the winners offered another route into Europe’s premier club competition.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s team are fifth in Serie A, which is now good enough to reach the UEFA Champions League. In the quarter-finals, they knocked out Liverpool – who were arguably the favourites – before beating Olympique Marseille 4-1 on aggregate to reach the final.
